Stav Axenfeld, a graduate of the Department of Visual Communications Design at the Holon Institute of Technology, is exhibiting at Designboom Mart (click here for further details), at Designers Week in Tokyo from October 27 to November 4.The exhibition presents the works of young designers from around the world (click here for further details).Stav Axenfeld says: “I was invited to show a product I designed, entitled Two Sugars – a sugar cube in the shape of Roman numerals.”
A social get-together always includes an invitation for tea or coffee, and the host’s inevitable question: How many sugars? So I created sugar cubes in the shape of Roman numerals, and each cube contains one, two, or three teaspoons of sugar. The cubes are made of white sugar and demerara sugar.
“I designed the product in a course entitled Two Dozen, given by Prof. Gad Charny, in which we were asked to invent a product, produce two dozen units of it, and at the end of the course, to sell it.”
